For quite a while I have wanted to paint a mural at my local park. Well, I presented my idea to my local Parks & Rec Board and the mural is a go! My next step is raising some funding for the project. The space is approximately 14 feet wide and 11 feet tall.

The Line Up So far
This is the line up so far. All are still in development. I just can't wait to work on them further.
A sneak peek at what is yet to come.
Another Sculpture is on Its Way
This is another head form that I have started to sculpt. This is representing, "He Needs That Like a Hole in the Head". Sculpting the hair was quite fun as I tapped into my cosmetologist skills from way back.
Sculpture Finished for State Fair Entry
I have now finished and submitted my paper mache sculpture, "Trying" to the Iowa State Fair. I now await notification if it has been selected to be on display at the fair. I also submitted my sculpture, "Identity" that I previously posted about.
State Fair Entry is Coming to Life
I have added the base and the paper clothing, tiny wings on the back and the paper scarf, and yes, that is a mini paper bag on the head as a hat.
State Fair Entry
I decided to create a paper mache sculpture to enter in the Iowa State Fair. Wire, felt, paper and light application of sculpting paste are represented on these images above.
Smoother Head Form
This is the form that I have applied some sculpting paste to for a smoother texture. The head form will have clouds wrapped around it. This will be a great experiment for me to create clouds.
Catching Up
The hair has been added to this head form. Behind is the "She Has Her Heads In The Clouds" head form that has a thin layer of sculpting paste applied for a smooth texture.

What I've Been Up To This Week. . .
![]() | |
This "guilty" girl just had her hair done with Mod Podge. Think of it like the old dippidy-do hair gel but stiffer.

The first male head form is starting to take shape. Here he joins up with "guilty girl" for a pic.

This head gets some special treatment. I applied a paper pulp layer over the paper mache for a different texture for this piece.

Next for this guy is the addition of some hair, then paint.
